Frequently Asked Questions
Will I receive my money directly to my M-Pesa?
Yes. We do not touch your money. When a customer pays on your website, the funds go straight to your Lipa na M-Pesa Till or Paybill number. You will receive the usual SMS confirmation from Safaricom just like any other sale.
How will riders find my customer's house without a house number?
Kenya do not use zip codes. We customize your checkout page so customers must provide a nearby landmark, such as a specific Petrol Station, School, or Supermarket. This makes it easy for your delivery person or a Bolt/G4S rider to find the location without calling the customer ten times.
What happens if the website breaks or has a problem?
We build our shops using reliable systems, but if anything goes wrong, we are here to help. We offer a support period after the site goes live to make sure everything is running smoothly. You will not be left alone to figure out technical issues.
Will my customers find my shop on Google?
Yes. We set up the basics so that when someone searches for your brand name or the specific products you sell, your website appears. This helps you get customers from all over Kenya, not just people who already know your WhatsApp number.
Can I add more products by myself later?
Yes. We do not want you to pay a developer every time you get new stock. We give you a simple training session and videos that show you how to add photos, descriptions, and prices in less than two minutes.
Is WooCommerce better than Shopify for a Kenyan business?
In Kenya, yes. Shopify charges you a monthly fee in Dollars (USD), which gets expensive as the exchange rate changes. With WooCommerce, you own the site fully, there are no monthly platform fees, and it works much better with M-Pesa.
Do I need to have a registered company to start?
No. You can start as an individual or a sole proprietor. As long as you have a way to receive payments (like a Till number or a Bank account), we can build your shop. We can also advise you on how to get a Till number if you do not have one yet.
What if a customer wants to pay with Cash on Delivery?
Yes, you can. We know many Kenyans still prefer to see their items before they send the money. We set up an option at the checkout called “Pay on Delivery.” When a customer chooses this, the website records the order and sends you a notification to prepare the package. Once your rider delivers the item and the customer pays (either by cash or to your M-Pesa) you simply mark the order as “Paid”.
Do I have to pay you every month to keep the site online?
No. Our development fee is a one-time payment. You will only need to pay your hosting and domain provider once a year (usually to a company like Safaricom, Hostinger, or Chajio Cloud) to keep your “address” on the internet active.
Can I sell to customers in Uganda, Tanzania, or Rwanda?
Yes. We can set up your shop to show different prices for different countries. If you have a way to ship there, your website can take the orders and even calculate the shipping costs for those regions automatically.
How do I know if a customer has actually paid and not sent a fake M-Pesa message?
The system is automated. When a customer pays through the M-Pesa prompt on the website, the site only confirms the order if the money actually hits your Till or Paybill. You don’t have to manually check every message to see if it’s real.
What happens if I run out of stock for a specific item?
Your website tracks your numbers. If you have 5 pairs of shoes and sell all 5, the website will automatically show “Out of Stock” so no one else can buy them. This saves you from the embarrassment of calling a customer to say you don’t have what they paid for.
Can I put my website link on my Facebook posts, Instagram Bio and TikTok?
Yes. This is the best way to use your site. Instead of telling people “DM for price,” you just put the link in your bio. Customers click it, see the price, and pay immediately without waiting for you to be online.
Can I give my staff access to manage orders without them seeing my money?
Yes. We can create a “Staff Account” for your workers. They will be able to see which orders need to be packed and shipped, but they won’t be able to change your bank details or see your private business settings.
What if I want to change my prices for a "Black Friday" or holiday sale?
You can change your prices in seconds. We show you how to set a “Sale Price” that shows the old price crossed out and the new lower price next to it. You can even set a timer so the sale ends automatically at midnight.
Is my shop and my customers' data safe from hackers?
Yes. We take security very seriously. We only recommend hosting companies that provide a “Safety Lock” (SSL Certificate) to protect your website address. On top of that, we install a professional security plugin on your shop. This includes a “Firewall” to block hackers, a scanner to check for bad files, and “Two-Factor Authentication.” This means even if someone gets your password, they cannot log in to your shop without a special code from your email.
